In Villard du Planay, located at the foot of a giant pressure pipeline, which draws its water from the surrounding glaciers, Galerie Hydraulica reveals the secrets behind hydroelectricity and its use in metallurgy and chemistry. It allowed the valley to develop in the 19th century, well before the advent of modern skiing. Glaciers, essential elements of our mountains, are unveiled at Espace Glacialis, an interpretation center located in the heart of the classified valley of Champagny le Haut. Come and discover everything you need to know about these giants, from their scientific aspect to their historical dimension through a fun and interactive exhibition (films, models, photos, objects to touch ...). Games are offered to families to discover the Espace Glacialis and tackle the challenges of global warming while having fun.Self-guided tours: Monday to Friday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Guided tours around the village. The tour visits the sunniest aspects of our destination and offers you the chance to see a wide variety of local relics and ruins. Jean-Baptiste Voisin knows the ins and outs of Pralognan, and will show you a variety of local relics that illustrate how the landscapes have changed since the early 20th century, prior to the two world wars.

Morning in the pasture During the moment of the day when the mountains awaken, come taste a piece of life in an alpine pasture and meet with the farmers who work the land in the Vanoise Range! Planned for this early morning outing: observing the local fauna and beautiful landscapes, ancestral know-how and life in an alpine pasture today, and a delicious breakfast at a pastoral chalet.

Monsieur Sylvain’s goats
Audrey and Sylvain are anxiously waiting for you at their alpine pasture in Chapendu, among their herd of goats, to welcome you at milking time. Near the restored cheese cellar, enjoy a tasting of “Tomme de Chavière” cheese and other cheese-related delights!

Alpine cheese cellarIn the cheese cellar, discover a wide variety of local cheeses, and then in the village of Prioux, through the enthusiastic instruction of a local farmer, learn how to make delicious “alpine chalet” Beaufort cheese. Enjoy this appetizing stroll and a drink nearby in a lodge!
